FAQ:
We are calling the feature “Stationary” / “PDF Templage” in Aloaha “printing to Letterhead”.
That is possible in all commercial Aloaha PDF Suite versions. Be it Desktop or Server version.
You can even define that the first page of your PDF will get a different letterhead or that every x pages there is a different letterhead.
It is also possible to define the letterhead via embedded command.
Please have also a look at the YouTube Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=onfvZQbMD1I
The Aloaha PDF Suite is licensed per user not per machine. If you see that message you have a license for X user but X+Y user are using the PDF Suite on that machine.
When using PKCS #11 Token in Aloaha Smartlogin Aloaha will save your credentials ON the token itself. So it needs to support writing.
As a golden rule you can say that if it works as a token in TrueCrypt then it will also work in Aloaha
You need to install our Aloaha Smartlogin since that supports Mifare and Desfire out of the box. Have a look at our YouTube Video to learn how to use it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CK2EpeXgCo
The installation can be downloaded from http://www.aloaha.com/download/smartlogin.zip
Please do not forget to request an evaluation key from info@aloaha.com
You could start with our free Aloaha Certificate Generator
If you own a server license for the Aloaha PDF Suite Pro or Light you can re-configure it to run as a service.
Just remove the PDF Popup shortcut from the Windows Menu -> Startup / Autostart folder and exit the PDF Suite (or kill creator.exe)
Then please open the services control panel (services.msc) and re-configure the service PDF Suite to run automatically and start it.
Please note that you might have to configure the service to run as a specific user. That is very important if you have the Server Pro Edition to digitally sign PDF Documents. You need to configure the service to run exactly as that user owning the certificate to be used!
If you have the AllowUP enabled in your userpass.ini then you can write UP:<username> (for example: UP:johndoe) into the username field of the Smart Logon Tile. Instead of the PIN enter the usernames password.
[Generic]
AllowUP=1
Pin Caching is enabled per default for a period of only 15 seconds. To extend that time to a long period please open your registry editor (regedit.exe) and go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\CSP
There you must set MaxDecryptionCacheAge_Minutes to the number of minutes you want Aloaha to cache your PIN. In case you want to cache your PIN for a shorter period than one minute please enter the number of seconds in MaxDecryptionCacheAge_Seconds
Please create the keys in case they do not exist.
You can create a key FilePINCachePath in HKLM\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\CSP and point it to an .ini file. The .ini file can be located on a share. But please make sure that the user “LocalSystem” has read/write access to that share.
The value could be \\Server\Share\PinCache.ini
You need to repeat that on all of your client machines!
This is ideal if you need to logon to several different machines during the day.
Please note that you can define the expiry time as explained on: http://www.aloaha.com/faq/how-do-i-cache-my-smartcard-pin/
Yes, if you use your smart card just for one specific user we can guess the username for that user and you can disable the username field (or just leave it empty)
You find a file UserPass.ini in your Aloaha installation folder. Open that file and look for the section Generic:
The default setting there is:
[Generic]
DisableUserName=0
EnableUserName=1
which results in a tile like this:
If you change the settings as shown below you will not see the Username field anymore:
[Generic]
DisableUserName=1
EnableUserName=0
It is possible to customize the logon tile image. Just create a key called tileImage in HKLM\Software\Aloaha\CP and point it to a BMP Image.
It is suggested that it has a resolution of 480x480x32.
Yes, just set HKLM\Software\Aloaha\CSP\DisableAutoShuffle to 1
- Just go to http://forms.aloaha.com
- In case you are asked for username and password user admin as user and admin as password.
- Press button “Create new form” on the bottom
- Press button “Upload Letterhead” on the left side
- Press button “Download PDF” to save the PDF locally
Free version is limited to one page only
All you need is a web browser with Java Script enabled
Of course we also sell the server software. Just contact info@aloaha.com for pricing
Yes, of course. When you release a document from within our online PDF Designer it automatically generates the traditional PDF and additionally a responsive HTML form.
When you see the preview you can right click on the grey system tray icon an choose “Userpassword”
Yes, you need to create a registry key KeepUserPassPermanent in HKLM\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\pdf and set its value to 1
To change the email from when using the Aloaha PDF Automailer you need to set the email in the following two registry keys:
HKCUSoftware\Aloaha\pdf\email
and
HKLM\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\pdf\email
Please note that a restart of the Aloaha PDF Suite might be required to re-read the new value from the registry
If you are running Aloaha as Administrator you can simply switch between interactive and non-interactive mode via the Aloaha System Tray.
In some cases it might not be possible that you log on as Administrator or you want to configure that property remotely.
In that case you have to create/change the the following two keys (1 is interactive):
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Aloaha\pdf]
“noauto”=dword:00000000
“interactive”=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Aloaha\pdf]
“noauto”=dword:00000000
“interactive”=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Aloaha\pdf]
“noauto”=dword:00000000
“interactive”=dword:00000000
In Aloaha it is possible to send emails via embedded commands. You can define body and subject via embedded commands.
Much easier it is to create an text (ascii), html or eml template.
You can point to that template either via embedded commands: TextPath:, HTMLPath: and EMLPath:
as explained on: http://www.aloaha.com/pdf-applications/aloaha-pdf-suite-2/pdf-automailer/
In case you are also using the same email template you can create the registry keys textpath, htmlpath or emlpath in HKLM\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\pdf and point them to the template.
Please note that you ONLY need to use ONE of the templates. Either text (ascii) or html or eml.
Strictly speaking a PDF Mailer without sending PDF Documents does not really make sense. But there are cases in which other processes modify the PDF and you are adding those with the attachment command.
If you set HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\<Wow6432Node>\Aloaha\pdf\DoNotAttachedPDF2Mail (create if not exist) to 1 then the Aloaha automailer will NOT attach the PDF anymore if there are already other attachments to the mail.
