CodeB Credential Provider V2 – Installer

The CodeB Credential Provider V2 is a custom Windows Credential Provider that enables authentication via NFC cards, Memory Sticks, TOTP Token and more. This package includes CredentialProviderInstaller.exe, a utility used to install the provider.

Installer Overview

CredentialProviderInstaller.exe is used to automate the installation, upgrade, and removal of the CodeB Credential Provider components. It supports the following command-line switches:

Command Line Options

/install
Installs or reinstalls the Credential Provider libraries and registers them in the system.

/remove
Uninstalls the Credential Provider libraries and deregisters them from the system.

/upgrade
Upgrades all installed Credential Provider libraries.

/checkupgrade
Checks if the Credential Provider libraries require an update.

If an update is needed, it will be applied automatically.

If no update is required, the installer exits silently.

/license xyz
Installs the specified license key. Replace xyz with your actual license string.

/cert
By default, the installer generates encryption certificates in the local system's certificate store during installation.
Use this switch when:

You plan to share soft tokens across multiple machines.

Notes

Administrator privileges are required to install or remove the Credential Provider.

A system restart may be necessary for changes to take effect.

When using shared tokens in enterprise environments, consistent certificate deployment is essential.
