Transform any PDF document into a fillable form.
It is easy to make an attractive, clear PDF form using the Aloaha PDF Suite. The PDF Editor included in the Suite can transform any PDF file into an interactive form with text forms. Unlike the Adobe Reader the Aloaha PDF Editor allows user to fill in these forms AND save them to disk - no additional form saver is needed!

Splitting, adding, merging and re-combining multiple PDF documents and pages
Initially the PDF File format has not been designed to be an editable format. It was designed to print to it as an e-paper. Over the past years tools people started to want more than just create and dump them. Instead of recreating new files all the time it makes sense to combine multiple documents into one single document. For this purpose features like append other PDF, Page delete, page extract and insert blank page are included in the Aloaha PDF Suite.

As a short example I will show here how to add page X of document A as Page Y in document B. First you need to open document A and browse to page X. That can be done either with clicking on the page number at the bottom or via Page / Go to. The next step would be to delete all pages except the current one. Just use Page / Extract for that and save the remaining single page document under a different name (C for example). Now you open document B and insert document C with document / Append other PDF. The last step before saving this new document would be to browse to the last page and move that page with Page / Move To to its final position Y.

Embed other PDF Documents or non PDF Files into your Document.
Another great feature of PDF is that it can handle embedded files of any type. Aloaha makes it easy to embed your files into the PDF Document. Just imagine you documented your latest software and for archiving purposes you would like to embed the source code as well. To embed any file to a PDF just drag and drop these files into the preview of the PDF Document. That is possible works with the Aloaha PDF Creator and the Aloaha PDF Editor. One other very important advantage of embedding your file into PDF is to bypass various mail scanner. Most filetypes except PDF are nowadays blocked by mailserver.

Insert link to an external File
One of the little known features of PDF Bookmarks is that you can use them to open external files. Open your document in the Aloaha Editor and click on the bookmark icon in the right toolbar. Create or edit your bookmark and insert a filename and/or path instead of an URL. One great feature is that the path is relative. If you move all your files together to a new location the bookmarks will remain valid.

You could use this feature and create a blank PDF document that simply links to other documents, files, URLs, images, etc. Since the links are hierarchical, which means if you have the Master PDF and all of its other files in a group of folders you can move the entire group to a new location and the links will still work.

Adding Document Info
You can add or edit 'Document Information' fields (title, subject, author and keywords) of any PDF documents for identification, categorization or indexing purposes.

Select Document > Document Properties

Enter your information and press OK. Do not forget to save your changes

Reset owner password / security settings
To reset a lost owner password or to change the security settings of a PDF Document just open the document go to
-> Settings -> Set Permissions and press OK.
No need to purchase an expensive password removing tool or use a commercial password removing service!

Creating Links to a Web page
One way to integrate your static PDF documents into live websites is the possibility to add web links (also called URL hotspots). The process is even easier than creating web links in HTML!

Mark the area of your document you want to be used as an URL hotspot. You need to click with the left mouse button on the left upper corner of that area and the right mouse button on the right bottom corner. As a result you will see the area marked with a box.

Click the Link Tool from the right toolbar
Enter the web address
(e.g. http://www.aloaha.com or mailto:aloaha@wrocklage.de)
and click OK!

Measure the size of audience of your PDF Document!

In free, sponsorship-funded PDF publications, accurate distribution figures are crucial, as the content creators are ultimately accountable to their sponsors. Aloaha makes it very easy and straight forward to measure who is reading when and where which page of your PDF document. There exist lots of different approaches on how to reach that goal. Most of them depend on Java Script. But what about user which do not use an Adobe Reader or which disabled Java Script? Aloaha’s approach makes tracking more simple and reliable. Via Page / Insert tracking Image you can insert a link to an existing jpg Image on your web server. Every time somebody opens the PDF page with that link the traffic will be recorded to your server logs. Parameters are also supported. You can simply place an image such as
http://www.aloaha.com/download/pixel.jpg
on your server and link to it like:
http://www.aloaha.com/download/pixel.jpg?docunumber=1&pagenumber=2
