Aloaha PDF Suite Server integration
The Aloaha PDF Suite is the ultimate tool to create, digitally sign and automatically deliver PDF documents by email or FAX.
For automatic FAX delivery it is suggested to use our Aloaha FAX Suite.
Installation of Aloaha PDF Suite Server
Configuration
By default the Aloaha PDF Suite will run in application mode. To reconfigure Aloaha to run as Windows Service please follow the steps below.
The first step should be to decide under which credentials the PDF Suite should run.
LocalSystem is NOT suggested by Microsoft unless LocalSystem rights are required.
To convert a document format into the FAX format Aloaha requires to call the assigned application. For example Winword for .doc files.
Some applications show a message box with a confirmation button on the first startup. In case you run Aloaha as LocalSystem you will never see that message box and you might think that Aloaha hangs.
If you run Aloaha as an ordinary user you are able to log on as that user and run that application for the first time manually and confirm that message box.
We always suggest to create a dedicated user "Aloaha".
- Log on to the machine as user "Aloaha"
(or the user you decided to use)
- Right click on the Aloaha System Tray Icon to configure settings, disable "Interactive" and enable "Process all Print Jobs" / "Enable Automation" in "Advanced Settings".
- Make sure that "Disable Mailing" in "Advanced Settings" is NOT activated.
- Make sure that "Create INF File" is not activated in "Advanced Settings".
- Stop Aloaha, remove all Aloaha shortcuts from the autostart/startup menu and re-login to your machine as administrator.
- Open the services control manager and configure the PDF Suite Service to run automatically as user "Aloaha"
How to send a FAX via Aloaha PDF Printer
It is very easy to instruct Aloaha with embedded commands to send the created document as fax.
Please read more about the
automailer and embedded
automation commands.
aloaha automation example.pdf (239,09 KB)
All you need to do now is to embed the command on the first page of your document to be faxed.
Please note that the font can be white on white ground and/or 1 pixel in size.
The huge advantage of using the PDF Suite as FAX Connector is that everything works via Aloaha PDF Printer. You can just share this printer to the network and all client PC's can fax without even having to install a special client software!
