Aloaha SPAM Rejector FAQ

Can I install Aloaha on the same machine as the MTA?

Yes, Aloaha can be installed on the same machine. Just reconfigure your MTA to listen on a different port than 25.
^^

Question:
I can telnet to port 25 but get no banner greeting. What am I doing wrong?

Answer:
Since Aloaha SPAM Rejector is a transparent SMTP Proxy you need to configure properly the forward port and forward IP. If Aloaha accepts a connection and does not get a greeting from the target machine it will not send a greeting to the sending machine.

Question:
Is it somehow thinkable that a malfunction of Aloaha can cause me loosing emails?

Answer:
First of all it should be noted that we have a very intensive testing process and a closed beta program for our releases. Furthermore it should be noted that one of the reasons why we developed our AntiSPAM Software as transparent Proxy was the fact that a mailfunction in a transparent SMTP Proxy cannot cause you loosing emails. The worst case scenario would be that emails arrive delayed or get rejected back to the sender. Email lossed are impossible!
