Native Supported SmartCards
Aloahas default way of accessing certificates to create signatures is via Microsoft CSP (Cryptographic Service Provider). CSPs can be considered as the “driver” for Certificates and Smartcards. Every CSP compatible Smart Card can be used with Aloaha.
The cryptographic service provider of the card will take care of security issues such as PIN Handling etc.
There are situations that it is not possible to use the CSP of the Smartcard. For example the Smartcard is being sold without CSP, the CSP does not support mass-/batch signature or the CSP does not support “secure PIN entry”.
For all these cases Aloaha introduced the native support for a broad range of smart cards. Aloaha can use native supported smart cards without having a CSP/PKCS module installed.
Advantages of using native supported cards with Aloaha:
- No CSP or PKCS is required.
- PIN can be cached for mass/-batch signatures.
- Secure PIN Entry via smartcard Reader PIN PAD for extra security.
- No software overhead leads to faster signature process.
