64Bit Support
Unlike other PDF creation tools Aloaha does not work as a virtual printer driver. The Aloaha PDF Suite is a print spool monitor which does not depend on any special printer driver. The Wrocklage PDF Printer included in the installation package is only being installed to keep the setup transparent and easy to install.
Due to changes in the Windows driver model Windows 32/16 BIT printer driver cannot be installed on Windows 64 BIT. Please keep this in mind when during the Aloaha PDF Suite installation the installation of the Wrocklage PDF Printer fails.
Once you installed the Aloaha PDF Suite and ignored the failure during the Wrocklage PDF Printer install you need to install and configure a printer of your choice to be monitored by Aloaha.
Good choices are old printer like the HP DeskJet 500c. Add this printer via the control panel/printer. It does not matter to which physical port you connect the new printer since the monitored printer will kept paused anyway.
Once you installed the new printer successfully you need to reconfigure this printer to be monitored by Aloaha. The first step would be to pause the printer and rename it to Wrocklage PDF Printer. Please re-configure also the print processor to spool EMF xx.
To make sure that all settings of that printer are correct please start the monitor.exe from the Aloaha PDF Suite installation directory. Right click on your new printer and choose PDF Prepare.
Your configuration of Aloaha is now ready. To make sure that all settings are initialized it is suggested to restart the machine. If that is not possible please restart at least the print spooler service.
