There are three ways of using the Aloaha PDF Suite to print directly to a FAX number.
Aloaha PDF Suite Professional or Light on every client machine
Just install the Aloaha PDF Suite Professional or Light version on your client machines.
To send a fax just print to your local Aloaha PDF Printer and press the email button. Now send the email with the PDF attached to the Aloaha FAX Server. The FAX Server will send the attached PDF to the FAX Number specified.
A more elegant way would be to configure in Aloaha FAX Suite the TextParser API as explained in the "Manual for Administrators" and shown in the screenshot below.
After enabling and configureing the Text API of Aloaha FAX Suite you just need to share it to the network. A suggested sharename is textparserapi$.
When you know right click in the Aloaha PDF Suite preview on one of the buttons at the right side you get the choice "Aloaha FAX Suite" as shown on the screenshot below.
As soon you click on "Aloaha FAX Suite" the following dialog will pop up.
In the Server field please enter the IP or Hostname of the Aloaha Fax Suite Server. The share field contains the TextParseAPI Share name and the sender your email address.
Once you press "Send" Aloaha will generate a PDF and submit the job directly to the Aloaha FAX Server. In this mode no email server is required!
As an introductional offer we will give you the required Aloaha PDF Suite Light licenses for free on purchase of the Aloaha FAX Suite!
Aloaha PDF Suite Server Edition
In some cases it is not suiteable to install a "Print to PDF" client on every desktop machine. In those cases the Aloaha PDF Suite Server Edition is the ideal solution.
Just install and configure the Aloaha PDF Suite Server edition somewhere in your network and share the "Aloaha PDF Printer" to the network. Client machines would just connect to that shared printer and print. Aloaha will parse the print job for the FAX Number and send it to the Aloaha FAX Suite Server.
