The short message service, known as SMS or texting, has become the most popular way of sending personal messages. However, SMS also has several applications in the corporate environment:

Nowadays anybody with a mobile phone can send an SMS but Aloaha’s SMS Gateway offers additional functionality. SHA-256 support of Aloaha's digital Signature Products

The german Federal Office for Information Security suggested on the 13th September 2007 (http://tinyurl.com/2jhvpb) that from the 1st January 2008 the hashing algorythm SHA-1 cannot be considered as safe anymore.
It was suggested to use instead the more secure SHA-256 hashing. Aloaha followed that advice and integrated SHA-256 immediately in its digital signature products such as the Aloaha PDF Suite, the Aloaha PDF Signatur and the Aloaha Smart Card Connector.

Please contact the Aloaha support to learn which Smart Cards are currently SHA-256 capable and how to enable this new functionality in Aloaha. Popular new smart cards such as the new D-Trust, Telesec Netkey and TC Trustcenter smart cards obviously support SHA-256. Even the upcoming german health professional and health insurance cards do support SHA-256.

License keys which have have been purchased during the past 12 month and license keys with a maintenance contract qualify for a free upgrade. Holder of such licenses should download the latest build from the Aloaha website and upgrade their installation.

Secure Channel of T-Systems Telesec Netkey 3.0 supported

The most secure smart card currently available is the Telesec Netkey 3.0 card. The qualified certificate can be only used if a secure channel between software and smart card has been etablished. The communication through such secure channels is 3DES encrypted thus making it impossible for trojans, viruses etc. to sniff the traffic passing through the USB cable to and from the card.

Alternative Certificates of T-Systems Telesec Netkey Cards supported

A great feature of Telesec Netkey Cards are the alternative certificates. Additional to the default 3 certificates it is possible to load additional certificates to netkey cards. Like this it is possible to have for every required task or role the required certificate on on one card. This makes frequent card changes etc. obsolete. The alternative certificates of the Netkey Cards are supported by all Aloaha signature products such as Aloaha PDF Suite, Aloaha PDF Signator and Aloaha Smart Card Connector.
